Georgiana and Dex share a sizzling attraction and a wicked past…but is their scorching passion enough to melt the Ice Countess’ heart?

If you adore sexy Dukes, feisty Duchesses, and a steamy second-chance romance set in the magnificent Regency era, The Ice Duchess is the romance novel for you!

Excerpt

Chapter One

A boisterous Derbyshire manor where neither hero nor heroine want to be…

December 21, 1820

It couldn’t be, but she knew it was.

Georgiana stood in a shadowed recess beneath the imperial staircase gracing Buxton Hall’s entrance, a beaded reticule dangling forgotten from her wrist, her breath trapped between her lungs and her lips. The fragrances of the season—frankincense, cinnamon, roast goose—swirled, and she closed her eyes, hoping, praying…

But when she opened them, Dexter Reed Munro, the Marquess of Westfield, mere days from becoming the Duke of Markham if the rumor was correct, stood on the lowest step of the flight across from her, his expression amused, his head tilted as if someone had told a joke and he was considering whether to laugh.

When one yearned to hear that laugh.

A horde of fluttering, preening admirers surrounded him, and his smile, polite but winsome, looked so authentic they’d no idea he was soundly rejecting them. She could spot a fake right off. And, heavens, did she recognize the Munro brand of rejection.

He doesn’t care for society, she’d love to tell the flock.

He only cares for his bloody rocks.

When the secrets of the past threaten to destroy the future.

A tale of hope, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of a woman, this sweeping epic spans the Atlantic from New England to Morocco during the Age of Exploration.

2019: A young woman finds a relic engraved with a mysterious symbol off the coast of Martha's Vineyard. Terrorists in Morocco steal a 17th-century book engraved with the same symbol. As the woman struggles to unravel the secrets behind the symbol, her life changes in ways she could never have imagined.

1657: Transported back in time, she meets the alchemist, John Winthrop, Jr. who is plotting to lure the greatest scientific minds to the New World. But the more she learns, the more she fears for the lives of the loved ones she left behind.

In a stunning twist of fate, a modern terrorist has traveled into the past, where he has become a Barbary Corsair. He has plans of his own. And he will stop at nothing to succeed.

R.A. Denny is the author of six historical fiction and fantasy novels.  Readers have described her books as deep, spirited, and imaginative.

Teatime and Books Historical Reads Review ~ How the Scot was Won - Desperately Seeking Duke Series by Caroline Linden

 Teatime and Books Historical Reads
Review

How the Scot Was Won

Desperately Seeking Duke Series

by

Caroline Linden

Just captivating all the way through, I really loved this amazing tale. I'm so used to reading about Duke's and Marquesses that it's nice to read about an average individual. I just loved the down-to-earth feel Felix and Agnes brought to this tale. Their love is so epic and deeply emotional, I really connected with these two. Linden's style of writing is so vivid, she just draws you into the everyday lives of her characters and makes you feel as if you are truly there! I just can't say enough about this story. I give it a huge high 5 stars and highly recommend this to every lover of historical romance!
